If you are missing your pet, follow these steps!

1. Contact Blue River Pet Rescue at  402-417-6026 and leave a lost report. It is helpful to know the last location the animal was seen.

2. If you have a picture of your lost pet please email it to us at: blueriverpetrescue@gmail.com. We would be happy to post the picture of your lost pet on our Facebook page.

3. When claiming a lost pet, you must provide proof of ownership (ie vet records)

If you have found a stray pet, follow these steps!

1. Check and see if the animal has a collar and identification tags. Most owners put a telephone number to call if their pet is ever lost. Micro-chipping pets is becoming more and more common; these chips can be found with a special scanner that we have along with most veterinary clinics. You can always bring the animal in to be checked for a microchip. 

2. Contact Blue River Pet Rescue at  402-417-6026. Please note: Blue River Pet Rescue is not an open admission shelter in that we shall reserve the right to turn away an animal. If people ask if the shelter is 'Full' they will be informed whether or not the shelter is at capacity. It is our mission and mandate that we accept every lost or abandoned animal in our area. We evaluate each animal individually and will make decisions regarding adoption, transfer, or foster based on the animal and his or her ability to be safely re-homed.
