Blue River Pet Rescue

Goal: $12,000.00

Seward County Gives Project:

At Blue River Pet Rescue, the safety and well-being of our furry residents is our top priority. Our project is to raise $12,000 for a vital fire and security alarm system to protect the dogs and cats who call our shelter home. These animals have already faced difficult journeys, and we want to ensure they are always safe, even when staff aren’t on site. A modern alarm system will provide critical early warnings in the event of fire, smoke, break-ins, or other emergencies, helping us respond quickly and keep our animals out of harm’s way.

Every donation brings us one step closer to creating a safer, more secure environment for these vulnerable pets. Whether you can give $10 or $1,000, your support makes a lasting difference. By contributing to this campaign, you’re not just funding equipment — you’re giving safety to the animals who rely on us for shelter, love, and a fresh start. Help us protect the lives we’ve committed to saving. Together, we can make Blue River Pet Rescue a true safe haven.

Did you know?

Blue River Pet Rescue is 100% funded by generous donations from our community. Every dollar helps cover essential needs—from food for our dogs and cats, to veterinary care, to operating costs like electricity, and even the modest pay for our dedicated staff of one full-time and one part-time employee. We rely entirely on the compassion and support of animal lovers to keep our doors open and our pets safe.

Blue River Pet Rescue is committed to providing a safe home for homeless and abandoned dogs and cats. We are a no-kill shelter.  On average, we have 21 animals in our care at any given time.  All of our surrendered dogs and cats visit the vet upon intake at the rescue and receive complete medical care including spay/neuter if necessary.

Impact:

  • In 2024, we facilitated 153 rescues and adoptions. That is 153 pets going from homeless to loved!

  • So far in 2025, we have had 43 adoptions in the first quarter.

Foster

Pets that are abandoned, unwanted or stray benefit greatly from placement in a foster home. Here pets are given the opportunity to reestablish trust, socialize with people, and are assured shelter, nourishment and love.
