Fostering Program

Pets that are abandoned, unwanted or stray benefit greatly from placement in a foster home. Here pets are given the opportunity to reestablish trust, socialize with people and other animals, and are assured shelter, nourishment and love. We are working hard to establish a resilient and diverse foster program for pets on the community of Seward and surrounding counties.

How to Become a Foster Parent

In order to become a foster parent, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Have the consent of all adults living in your household.

  • Have the consent of your landlord, if applicable.

  • Have current vaccinations for all your household pets and negative FeLV/FIV tests for all cats in your home.

  • Agree to keep foster felines indoors, at all times.

  • Agree to a home visit with the program coordinators.

The first step to becoming a foster parent is to complete the foster care application. After you have completed the application form you will receive a response from our foster coordinator to schedule a home visit. After that, you will be contacted by the foster coordinator about current animals in need of a foster home.
